TAM Summer Art Camp: Spaces and Places (grades 6-8)
July 10-14, from 9 am – 5 pm
For youth entering grades 6–8
Learn how architects, artists, and designers think about the spaces and places in which we all live, work, and play. Experts from local Tacoma architecture and design firms will lead the way. Design and construct your own models inspired by TAM’s architecture and the buildings in downtown Tacoma. Then collaborate to create a cool, new art city!
Spaces and Places camps are facilitated in partnership with the American Institute of Architects Southwest Washington.
Before and After Care
Extend your child’s art engagement beyond camp hours with TAM’s before and after care. Campers will make even more art during open studio time and play games with their new camp friends, guided and supervised by TAM Camp staff.
Before Care: 8–9 am
After Care: 5–6 pm
Cost: $35 per week for before or after care; $50 per week for both before and after care.
Before and after care can be added-on during this payment process.
About TAM Kids Create Camp
Explore art in your community at TAM’s Summer Art Camps! Each week, find inspiration in works of art at the museum, investigate how artists are inspired by the world around them, and go on expeditions around town to experience art in unexpected places. Take creative risks with big ideas and new materials. Create works of art to share with family and friends at a special art show at the end of each week.
